Princeton’s Center for Information Technology Policy (CITP) has launched the Digital Witness Lab to examine the societal implications of technology and the role of algorithms. Mattu's work critiques the privacy pitfalls and biases in technology, and he's now focusing on the effects of WhatsApp, especially in India and Brazil, where misinformation campaigns are rampant. The lab also aims to investigate the impact of AI-generated content on misinformation and explore alternatives to the traditional venture capitalist model in tech development.
